Jasper Bloodthorn
Jasper Bloodthorn never intended to become a legend—he just didn’t know how to stop running. Some say he’s chasing something. Others say he’s running from someone. Either way, he walks the wild edges of Vravana, and wherever he goes, stories follow.
Jasper Bloodthorn grew up on the southern coast of Vravana, in a quiet fishing village overlooking the Emerald Sea. His father was a fading presence, more fond of the bottle than his own shadow, and Jasper’s world became shaped by long silences, empty promises, and the crashing rhythm of the waves. He found companionship—and trouble—in two childhood friends: Clementine, the fiery daughter of a bowyer, and Sébastien, a loyal boy with a sword and a code of honor. The three were inseparable—until the silence started to pull them apart.
Jasper became obsessed with the mystery of his mother’s disappearance, convinced she was still out there, somewhere along the ley lines. He stopped showing up. Stopped talking. Spent his days poring over old maps and sea-weathered journals, tracing a trail only he could see. Clementine stayed as long as she could. Then one day, she was gone.
He didn’t blame her. He couldn’t.
He just didn’t know how to let go of the past.
After she left, Jasper slipped away too—into the wild edges of the world, chasing rumors and leyline echoes. He worked as a tracker and a bounty hunter, following distortions and whispers of lost artifacts. He earned a reputation for showing up when the trail went cold—and disappearing just as quickly.
He never spoke of Clementine. But he never stopped thinking about her, either.
Jasper & Clementine
They were inseparable once.
Clementine—the firebrand archer who never missed a shot—and Jasper, the quiet storm who never spoke when it mattered most. They grew up on the same sandy beaches, dreaming of far-off adventures. But dreams turn heavy when grief weighs them down.
Clementine watched Jasper drown in maps and memories, trying to piece together a ghost trail that no one else could follow. She tried to reach him. Left notes. Brought spare arrows. Waited at his door.
Until one day, she couldn’t anymore. She left, and Jasper was never the same.
Now, their story plays out in songs—quiet laments, bitter duets, melodies wrapped in memory and regret. Each one reveals another layer of what they had, what they lost, and what might still remain beneath the ash and thorns.
- Maps and Memories: Jasper’s origin song, reflecting his childhood by the Emerald Sea, his mother’s disappearance, and the early cracks in his bond with Clementine as he begins his search.
- The Things I Never Said: A quiet, regretful confession. Clementine leaves to join the Rangers of Linwood, and Jasper fails to speak the words that might have made her stay.
- The Lost Years: Chronicles Jasper’s wandering after Clementine’s departure. Haunted by her memory, he follows shifting trails and fading hopes through years of solitude.
Jasper & His Mother
She was the reason he left. Her lullabies were the last warmth he remembered—and the first mystery he chased.
Jasper’s mother disappeared when he was still a boy, swallowed by the sea or something stranger. For years, her absence defined him more than her presence ever had. He followed rumor, silence, and song across Vravana, convinced she was still out there.
He was right.
But finding her didn’t bring peace. It brought something worse: the truth. She had started a new life—one where Jasper wasn’t part of the story. And in that moment, something inside him hardened. He stopped being the boy searching for answers.
He became the man who never wanted to be forgotten again.
- Lost to the Shadows: A pivotal moment in Jasper’s transformation. He finds his mother alive—but with a new life, a new family, and no place for him. It marks the emotional break that forges him into the man known as Bloodthorn.
Jasper Comes to Linshire
Eventually, his reputation caught up with him. When word spread that Arguston Moonlash, the infamous necromancer and pirate-lord, had resurfaced near Linshire, Jasper was contacted—not once, but by multiple factions. Some wanted Arguston captured. Others wanted him dead. Jasper didn’t ask why.
He took the job.
- Five Thousand Gold: A gritty, introspective track set on the eve of Jasper’s contract to capture or kill Arguston Moonlash. He questions who he’s become, weighed down by memory and duty.
- Arguston’s Threat: A dual-voiced confrontation between Jasper and Arguston Moonlash. Each verse escalates their ideological clash, leading to a final vow from Jasper to end the shadow that Arguston casts.
Jasper’s Disappearance
He returned to Linshire under a false name and a hood pulled low. But the town he found was not the one he remembered. The Linwood had turned wild, overrun by twisted creatures that didn’t belong. Shadows moved without wind. Trees wept blood sap. And something ancient stirred beneath the roots.
Jasper ventured into the forest anyway.
Witnesses say he was last seen at the edge of the trail, blades drawn, standing his ground as the Spider King erupted from a portal—a towering, chittering nightmare laced with void magic. The portal widened, swallowing leyline stones, soldiers, and eventually an entire swath of the Linfolk.
Wherever he is, we know that Jasper has always found himself caught between past and present, duty and regret, shadow and blade… and eventually, he’ll probably find his way back to Linshire. Most people do.
