One of the most exciting aspects of LARPing is bringing characters to life through costumes, storytelling, and imagination. In Linshire, we welcome that creativity—while keeping the experience enjoyable and family-friendly for all.
As part of the in-game lore, Linshire is a magical town with two active portals:
- One connects to modern-day Earth
- The other leads to various fantasy realms
This allows players to appear however they feel most comfortable. You can choose to come as yourself or as a character you create. Costumes are encouraged but not required—street clothes are absolutely fine!
However, please remember these clothing and conduct requirements while you’re in Linshire.
Dress Code
This dress code applies to all attendees, whether you are playing or just observing. Street clothes are fine but must follow the standards outlined in the “we do not allow” section.
We Encourage:
We Do Not Allow:
Linshire is our home, and we welcome you as a special guest. Our world is full of wonder and magic, and our goal is to keep the environment safe, inclusive, and uplifting for players of all ages.
Conduct Requirements
Linshire is more than just a game—it’s our home. We want it to be a place where families feel safe, creativity is celebrated, and every player, spectator, and visitor can relax and enjoy themselves. As we welcome new friends, we’ve put together the following conduct expectations to protect the tone and safety of our events.
These rules apply to everyone on site—whether you’re an actor, player, spectator, volunteer, or guest in street clothes. Thank you for helping us preserve the peace, joy, and wonder of Linshire.
Our Core Values
- Kindness and Respect: Treat all participants with courtesy and consideration, both in and out of character.
- Safety First: Physical and emotional safety are top priorities. Unsafe behavior will result in removal from the event.
- Family-Friendly Fun: This is a space for all ages. Please be mindful of your words, actions, and appearance.
We Expect:
- Respectful language and behavior at all times
- Consent-based interaction (do not touch others or their belongings without clear permission)
- Appropriate clothing that meets our Dress Code & Costume Guidelines
- Shoes worn at all times (closed-toed shoes strongly recommended)
- Positive roleplay—no bullying, harassment, or in-character behavior that targets or degrades others
- Responsible use of props (only approved, LARP-safe weapons allowed)
We Do Not Allow:
Respect the Space
Our events take place on private property and active forest terrain. Please treat the area—and the people in it—with care:
- No climbing on structures. The pirate ship, airship (treehouse), and other platforms are for cast members only.
- Stay within designated LARP areas. The area around the house, duck coop, and yard are off-limits. Children must be supervised, especially in the parking area.
- Follow staff instructions. Mr. Rain, the Mayor, and the Sheriff are your point of contact for safety, questions, or concerns.
- Help us keep the space clean and kind. Leave no trash behind, and lend a hand when you can.
Roleplay & Combat Conduct
- Foam weapons only. No real or metal weapons allowed. All boffer/prop weapons must be inspected at least 10 minutes before the event starts.
- Combat is light-contact and consent-based. No means no, both in and out of character.
- Respect other players’ boundaries and character choices. Harassment or intimidation will not be tolerated.
Enforcement & Accountability
These rules are in place to protect our families and ensure a fun, safe experience for all.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in:
- A verbal warning
- Removal from the game
- Being asked to leave the event entirely
- A permanent ban from future events, if necessary
We reserve the right to take appropriate action to protect our players and community.
Thank You
Linshire is a place of wonder, kindness, and imagination. Thank you for helping us keep it that way—for the kids who come to play, for the parents who feel safe bringing them, and for all of us who want Linshire to remain a sanctuary of joy for players of all ages.
