Sheriff Jerald Jones
The Sheriff wasn’t meant to be here. Thrown through a chaotic portal from another realm, he arrived in Linshire with nothing but the clothes on his back and a revolver at his side. His horse didn’t make it—just one of many losses he’s learned to live with. Now stranded in a town teeming with leyline magic, portal anomalies, and adventurers with more ego than sense, the Sheriff does what he’s always done: keeps the peace, no matter what it costs.
Allegiances
Officially, the Sheriff doesn’t belong to any guild. Unofficially? He’s got eyes like a Balance inquisitor, instincts like a Shadow agent, and the sort of calm that makes even Adherents nervous. He walks the line between the factions because someone has to. He does it with quiet authority and a deep sigh.
He’ll tell you he’s just trying to keep folks from killing each other long enough to survive another portal surge.
Role in Linshire
Keeper of peace. Mediator of disputes. Reluctant mentor. The Sheriff is the one who shows up when a portal malfunctions, when a creature stumbles out of the Linwood wrong, or when two adventurers try to settle a disagreement with swords in the town square.
He doesn’t ask questions. He doesn’t need to. He just watches. And when the time comes, he acts—fast, clean, and without drama.
